Setting off to South Korea

   Today marks the beginning of a new adventure into unknown and unfamiliar territory. The South Korean dream begins as I continue to wonder, “Why South Korea??” My daughter reminded me - - it’s THE big adventure. Yes, that it is!    I received many well wishes from my friends and family in Israel as I set off. I appreciated their/your kind words of support even though I know in their/your hearts they/you wish that I was finally back in Israel for good. Please bear with me. I'll be back! Truthfully it was a bit strange and unusual not hearing the long-time familiar chant encouraging me to stay put. I guess true friends really understand that we all have our paths to follow. G-D has a plan. Even though I had planned it differently from the start, I ended up selling my house and moving in the dead of the NH winter. Making a Music Video in Korea with Taiwanese Singer Wu Tsing Fong

      I had a very fortunate opportunity to work on a music video for celebrity singer, Wu Tsing Fong , from Taiwan, who came to South Korea to make the video. Fourteen "foreign" actors from the Seoul community were brought in for the shoot. I was lucky to be one of them. The shoot took two full days. The company that produced the video is Digipedi in Seoul, South Korea. They have produced a slew of videos for many celebrities and pop "idols" in Korea including the famous, Psy and my K-pop and musical actor fave, Xia Kim Junsu .      I developed a huge respect for Digipedi after having worked with them. They treated each and every one of us, regardless of our status, as if we were celebrities! We arrived early to a studio outside of Seoul.  Our group of actors was transported there in a large black van that was nicely equipped with a video screen and luxurious seats to relax in. When I turned 60 I realized that what lay ahead right in front of me was the opportunity of a lifetime. The kids were now grown and living their own independent lives. There were no grandchildren yet. I was still healthy, thanks the L-rd, but work and income were dwindling to the bare minimum and it was getting harder to sustain myself with so little coming in. Even so, I felt comfortable where I was in New Hampshire. I had my cat to keep me company and an endless stream of Korean dramas to keep me happy. At 60, in one's 7th decade, the reality is that many of my friends are living restricted lives... their finances are limited, some have large debt, many are still working to support a house and a maintain a comfortable lifestyle. At this age many friends have new health issues to contend with that limit their abilities. They are bound to doctors and medications and must adapt to a forced sense of retirement.
